Gites Unlock The Best Your Host Country Has to Offer!

Posted by leastofthesepromotions team on Apr-21-2011

In the past, traveling around the world usually meant one thing: trying to figure out what hotel you were going to stay in. Now, we don’t think there’s anything wrong with hotels in general, but when you get the once in a lifetime chance to see something exotic and beautiful away from home, why not choose exotic accommodations that really let you experience the best that your new host country has to offer?

Here’s a new word for you: gites. If you’ve never heard of a gite, don’t worry — they’re actually a great thing. They are free-standing accommodations that are individually owned. This means that you can get away from the stress and hassles of everyday life and not have to really worry about anything when you travel. You will still get the luxury angle in spades when you go to book your stay at a gite, but you won’t have that cold, sterile feel that sometimes comes from using hotels too much while you travel.

Villa holidays form the backbone of great travel — especially when you’re more focused on the experience rather than just rushing from place to place. If that’s all you wanted to do with your time, you wouldn’t have left home in the first place, right?

Exactly! So, what do we need to do in order to transform our experience away from the ordinary to the extraordinary? There are a few things that you will want to do in order to give yourself the best experience possible.

When it comes to good gites, the best ones are going to be directly owned by someone — why go through a management company if you really don’t have to? It’s just easier to make sure that you go ahead and get the best gite possible direct — but how do you do that?

Going online is the best approach, because you can look at what’s available directly from the owners rather than just what the travel management companies think you should have access to. Even though you’re going this direct approach, you still want to make sure that you actually book your trip as far ahead of the season as possible. The best gites are going to go to people that have planned out their trip. However, there are always opportunities for last minute trips if you really look for them — happy hunting and good luck!
